Vaccination of your pet is something that every owner should take seriously. Most diseases covered by vaccines are, at the very least, extrememely unpleasant for your pet and at worst, fatal.
DogsAt the Bearsted Veterinary Surgery we vaccinate dogs against: Distemper, Hepatitis, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Para influenza and Leptospira. The initial course is normally given 2 weeks apart followed by an annual injection. Your dog will not be fully immunised until one week after its second injection, and should not be taken for a walk or mix with other dogs until this time.
We also vaccinate against Kennel Cough, (administered as drops up the nose). This vaccine can be given at any time.
CatsWe vaccinate cats against Flu, Enteritis and Leukaemia. The initial course is normally given 3 weeks apart followed by an annual injection. Your cat will not be fully immunised until one week after the second injection, and should not go outside or mix with other cats until this time.
